Enduring downfall of my homeland as an internationally infamous joke

@waitwait -As a long-time oversea audience from Taiwan, I was flattered & shamed to find out that the infamous national disgrace was the first story mentioned in the broadcast.

Fights in TW Congress is a tradition known worldwide for 20+ years. It was key to bring down the dictatorship 20+ years ago, The shocked value gained synergy to topple 40+ years reign of the one-party police state and bring democracy to the island.

However, it also set the precedent that parliamential violence, often staged, became the trademark of our brand of democracy, attracting voters by establishing toughness and infamy as political credential. "I will fight for your right, literally, once elected." Civility nowaday translates to cowardice, The process of  legistrative compromises gives in to mafioso-style coercion and smear-campaign, euphemised as "a succesful model of Asian democritization and triumph of civility over authoritarian brutality."

It is a fair game to mock the obvious tomfoolnery as a form of entertainment. 20+ years of embarrassment and the resurgence of government-sanctioned intimidation as toll of mass control have left me numb to the reality and close to return to the states, where legitimate criticism is tolerated without fear of reprisal.

I beg of you and every member of the fourth estate to dedicate even more time and effort to mock, tease and embarrass Taiwan and its congress, maybe creatinga weekly reality show to laugh at them relentlessly. I anticipate only extreme embarrassment brought on in front worldwide TV audiences by foreign press and media would bring along a true reform born out of overwhelming shame and unbearable enough to stop continuing such barbaric tradition and bring hope to truly concerned citizen,

It is a far-fetched fantasy and long shot that it would happen, but I can only place hope on your decency to do right and demolish Taiwan relentlessly to give it a chance to evolve. When a man is brutally shamed publicly, he can choose to end his life voluntary as a relief. When a nation suffers the same fate, she would either adopt the mentality 0f "boxer rebellion", or make a giant step to regain its conscience and dignity.
